Welcome to Feast From Your Garden!!

Apple blossoms....it doesn't get any better than this......Love, love love the smell of apple blossoms.

Spring has finally arrived here in the city.  The weather has really cooperated so that I can get outside and clear the space for redoing my garden. I have decided that I was not going to till the garden this year but instead use containers and raised garden beds.  I will post before and after photos to show the progress. I also learned about reusing some of the old materials in my yard .You can save the environment and also reduce the amount of waste that is being added to the land fills.  So on that order, we have decided to use old garbage cans for planters. This was actually an idea that was on the web. When they are done they actually look light over sized strawberry planters.

Getting started with Spring planting

This is how my garden started out.

This is how the lower 40 looked before I decided to build raised beds. At one time we use to till this area
but I decided it would do better with raised beds.

A little bit blurry but against the fence are raspberry bushes.

Here We Go......Spring has Sprung...or Has it?

We have had a week of beautiful weather with several days in the 80 degree range.  What a perfect time to get outside and clear the path to a new gardening venture for me.  This year I have decided to redo the area in the yard known as the lower 40 and try something different. I decided to do raised beds and container gardening as someone promised to till but that didn't happen last year so ...New Year....New Plan.  I will also have some tire plantings as I have several left over from cars that we replaced the tires and never disposed of them. Thus they are now going to be part of the landscape.    Last but not least I will use gutter to elevate some of my rabbit food away from the feral rabbits that wander into this yard.  Happy Gardening...
